If you're tired of the crazy hustle and bustle of city life then it may be time for you to become a gaucho. You won't have to deal with traffic, crowds or bills. You can live off the land and travel from place to place earning a living from the local ranchers. Follow these steps to learn how to become a gaucho.

Move to the great plains known as the pamapas. They are located in Argentina, Uruguay and southern Brazil. Gauchos live off of the land traveling from place to place.

Acquire a strong, healthy horse. A gaucho travels by horseback and carries all his supplies in saddlebags. Your horse needs to be strong enough to travel many miles and carry heavy loads.

Hook up with a rancher who will employ you. You will become responsible for locating and returning his missing cattle. You will also provide him with protection if necessary.

Wear a wide hat to protect your eyes and face from the hot sun. Don a woolen poncho and long trousers to provide you protection from the elements.

Make boots using the hide of a recently killed calf. Wrap the hide around your legs and feet. Allow it to dry and it will take on the form of your foot and leg.

Hunt your food using a boleadora. This is a weapon made from stones that are bound in leather strips. It is used to trip animals by looping it around their legs like a lasso.

Cook your food immediately over an open fire. You will not have any way to preserve it as you are a traveling man.
