From Quick Guide: High School Sports
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Listen and follow closely the coach's directions concerning the game. Being a good sport means playing by the rules and respecting the authority of your coaches.

  2. Step 2

Compliment the other team members even if they won the game. This will help show your true team support and even help encourage your own team.

  3. Step 3

Volunteer to help your home team with anything they need done for the team such as getting drinks for the players, taking announcements to the announcer and even following the directions of the cheerleaders when they are performing. All of these things can help tremendously and show that you can be a good sport at high school games.

  4. Step 4

Smile and nod at the other team as they pass you on the field, in the parking lot or at the concession stands. Always show a good attitude, maturity and good sportsmanship in all situations, even up until the scoreboard is finalized.

  5. Step 5

Have a team mentality and get along with others. Remember that you're representing your school and team and not yourself. By focusing on team accomplishments rather than individual ones, you'll be showing good sportsmanship.
