An artist's workshop is a chance for artists to gather and concentrate on improving their craft. An artist's workshop can be open to almost anyone in a creative field, such as painters, sculptors and graphic artists. If you sign up to be part of an artist's workshop, then you want to make the most out of the experience.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Research the artists that will be on hand for the workshop. If you do not know of the artists who are attending the workshop, then do a little research on your own to find out more about them. Request a bio from the institution that is holding the workshop.
Step2
Gather the pieces and materials that you plan to bring. You should plan out how to utilize your time at the workshop. Write down an inventory to bring before you depart for the workshop.
Step3
Clear your schedule. Your focus for the duration of the artist's workshop should be solely on the workshop and the pieces that you are creating during this time.
Step4
Attend all sessions. Never miss any of the sessions that are held during the workshop or you may miss an important lesson.
Step5
Make time to speak one-on-one with the instructor. Don't feel like a nuisance if you take up a lot of the artist's time. You paid the money to attend and should get as much feedback about your work as possible.

Tips & Warnings

  • Many artist workshops also include meals with your admission fee. Meals can be used as a time to network with the artist and others attending the event.
  • Remember to get a copy of the itinerary of the workshop prior to attending the event.
