Sadly, I really don't think that the majority of this actually helps those who quote "have the talent" to work in these arenas, as "how can you get the experience if the majority of them won't give you a chance to showcase it?" Getting work in smaller media outlets is practically nil even on a good day. If these networks had a rotating schedule to give those who do show promise a chance, I suspect it wouldn't be as bad as it is now.
