How to Join the World Hapkido Association

Originating in Korea, Hapkido is a comprehensive martial arts form that combines both self-defense and fighting techniques. The World Hapkido Association was established to promote traditional Korean Hapkido and to help Hapkido practitioners and enthusiasts around the world. It's one of the most recognized Hapkido organizations that you can join and offers a number of benefits for its members.

      Visit the World Hapkido Association website (see Resources below). Here you can learn more about what the organization has to offer, browse their selection of books and videos, take online courses, get updates on upcoming events and join the group.

      Click on the "Join the World Hap Ki Do Association" link. This link takes you to the organization's online registration form and describes in detail what you receive with membership.

      Become a Charter member. You can sign up for a charter membership for $200 for the first year and $100 annually thereafter. With this level of membership you'll receive certificates of membership, introduction to the group's curriculum, 5 World Hapkido Association patches, a monthly newsletter via email, approval for the Certification Program when qualified, set of 3 instructional videos, a 20% discount on any online orders and online assistance from world renowned Hapkido masters.

      Choose individual membership. If the charter level membership is more than you need, then sign up for individual membership for $60 for the first year and $20 annually thereafter. With individual membership you'll receive certificates in membership, introduction to the group's curriculum, 1 World Hapkido Association patch, a monthly email newsletter, 20% discount on any online orders and online assistance from world renowned Hapkido masters.

      Fill out your registration form. Compare the benefits of each type of membership and once you decide which works best for you, fill out the online registration form. To become a member, you must have a major credit card so your renewal fees can be automatically charged on your anniversary date.

      Register for online courses. The World Hapkido Association also offers classes you can take online which you can register for either while you're signing up for membership or any time after you've become a member. These courses include sections on basic, intermediate and advanced techniques and black belt preparation.

      Allow 48 hours for processing time once your membership form and payment have been received. After everything has been processed, you will be contacted regarding your new membership and any online courses you signed up for.

Tips & Warnings

  • Credit cards are billed for membership renewals on each individual member's anniversary date. If you don't want your membership renewed, you must notify the World Hapkido Association 30 days prior to your renewal date.

  • If any of your sign-up information should change, such as mailing or email addresses, phone number or billing preferences, you must contact the World Hapkido Association immediately to update your records.
