How to Associate IncrediMail With EML Files
One of the nice things about windows operating systems is that they ask you to set your default mail handling program. It is not limited to a Microsoft product but needs to know what program to associate the 'filename.EML' file with so that if it is tried to be opened it will use the right program for the job.

1
Open Windows Explorer and use the Tools menu to find the Folder Options selection. Click on the Folder Options and wait for the window to open. Most attributes of files and folders are controlled by one of the tabs in this selection.

2
Select the File Type tab in the window. This will open a tab that allows you to set the file type extensions with the program that you desire to open that particular file type. Scroll down the list and find the EML file type. Click on this to select it.

3
Drop down to the box that is titles "Details of EML file extension." Select the "Change" button and find the IncrediMail program on your hard disk. This file is probably located in the Program Files>IncrediMail>Bin folder. The particular file you are looking for is named "IncMail.exe." Select this program and click OK. This will associate EML files with IncrediMail instead of the default, which is Outlook Express. Once you have completed the association of the EML files with IncrediMail, click the OK box and close the Windows Explorer window.

4
Test the process that you just performed by attempting to open an EML file. This should cause IncrediMail to open with the contents of the file that you selected to appear in the viewing window.
