1
Decide whether you want to have the test in English and have the student translate to Spanish; test in Spanish and have the students answer in English or test in Spanish and have the students answer in Spanish.
-
2
Review the material you have covered since the last Spanish test. Write down the information you want to cover. This should include vocabulary and reading.
-
-
3
Figure out the type of questions that are best suited for the Spanish test. They include multiple choice, fill in the blank, matching and reading comprehension.
-
4
Choose the type of questions you will use for the vocabulary questions. You could make a list of words on one side of the paper and a list on the other side and have the students match them or put them into multiple choice or fill in the blank questions. These can be done in Spanish and English or all in Spanish.
-
5
Put in reading passages in Spanish and have the students translate them to English or ask them questions about the passages in Spanish having them answer in Spanish or English--you decide. Some of this will depend on the level of the Spanish course.
-
6
Have an oral part. Reading is only one part of the test. Students not only have to be able to read and understand what they are reading, but they also have to be able to speak the language and understand what they are hearing. Therefore, you have to test them orally as well as written. The oral part should be done completely in Spanish.
