Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Decide if the flag will be for indoor or outdoor use. This will make an enormous difference on the kind of flag you want. If you want an outdoor flag, it should be weather proof and stronger than an indoor flag to display.
Step2
Research companies that make and sell flags to find the style you are looking for and compare prices. There are many companies that produce, manufacture and sell American flags. Research a few of them to find out prices, sizes available and styles offered.
Step3
Consider any accessories you want with or on your flag. Often with an outdoor flag you will be looking for additional accessories with the purchase of your flag, which could include a bracket and mounting pole. For an indoor flag, this may include a case or hanging accessory.
Step4
Read up on proper flag etiquette. Flag etiquette is extremely important and you should make sure you are aware of what the etiquette rules around flag flying and displaying are. One great site to check out for this information is US Flag, which offers history, etiquette and other information about the United States flag.
