5. Select a wedding date which allows you to fully enjoy a local honeymoon. If you live near the coast choose a time when beach weather is perfect. If you live in colder climates, think about a ski lodge or indoor water park for a winter escape.
6. Talk to friends and family about great get away spots they enjoy that are close by. Anything within a three to four hour drive would be a great option for a local honeymoon.
7. Take in some local entertainment while on your honeymoon. Go to the theater, spend a night dancing or visit a restaurant you've always wanted to try.
