MySpace is a social network designed to let average people network, find old and new friends and maintain profiles. People of all ages use MySpace to make new friends and you can too. Follow these steps to learn how to make friends on MySpace.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Be an authorized user on MySpace. While you can stalk people on MySpace without an account, you can only post comments, invite people to join your profile as a friend or email people as a signed in member. You can start a new account by clicking the "Sign Up" button on MySpace's main webpage. Once you have an account, log in.

  2. Step 2

Set your profile to be public. This allows prospective friends to view your profile and see if they'd like to keep tabs on you. You can choose who can view your profile by accessing your "Account Settings" and selecting the link for "Privacy." Click the circle next to "Everyone" under the section "Profile Viewable By."

  3. Step 3

Search for people. You can look up new members in the "Cool New People" section. Another way to find interesting people is to search for people who attended the same school as you, live in the same area or were in the same club as you. View the profiles of people who are friends with your friends.

  4. Step 4

Invite other users to be your friend. Click the "Add to Friends" link on the profile page for the person you want to be friends with. You can also send an email about yourself. The person can accept or deny you as a friend. If they deny your request, don't worry about it. Not everyone on MySpace wants to make new friends.
