Instructions

    • 1

Decide on the location of your bookshelves. Once you have done this, decide how big the bookshelves are going to be. Measure the top and bottom of the area the bookshelves are going to be built. You can never assume and top and bottom are always the same size.

    • 2

Measure for the vertical supports that will be built within the case. These should be done every 24 to 30 inches. Anything more than that will cause your shelves to sag and possibly break.

    • 3

Design a box the size of the area you want your bookshelf. This box will serve as the case itself. Once your have decided a design and size for your case, it is time to purchase the building supplies.

    • 4

Purchase all the materials you will need for the shelves. All the materials can be bought at a local building supply store.

    • 5

Use your skill saw to cut the wood in direct measurement of the bookshelf design. Include correct cuts for the vertical supports and the shelves.

    • 6

Fit the plywood on the back of the case and place the case in the designated spot. You will use the wire brads to stabilize your case in the position you desire. Drill holes for the supporting pins so you will be able to mount your shelves.

    • 7

Mount your supports in the case. These must be done prior to putting the shelves in.

    • 8

Insert the shelves. Once they are all in, paint the bookshelves any color you would like.
