Giving begins at home. Most people have tons of great things that they want to get rid of but don’t just want drop them off in second hand drop of boxes or sell them in the summer yard sale. Most of things are valuable, but would be timely if the pursued the selling avenue. The solution is to donate them for your good deeds for the year. There is also a small reward to you if you do. You get a very small tax deduction on that year taxes. The spiritual reward far out-weights the taxes. The organization in this article are all great places that do great things; but do not forget your local organizations. If you do not know where to call, just call information and ask them if there is a hotline that provides a link to all organizations. In our local area we have 311 and FirstLink. How to Do 6 New Good Deeds

Step1
For eyeglasses, try to donate to the New Eyes for the Needy Inc., 973-376-4903. They give these glasses to people that can’t afford to purchase glasses in other 30 countries.
Step2
For bicycles, try Pedals for Progress, on the web at www.p4p.org. They hook up with other charities worldwide where poor people need this to get to work.
Step3
For wedding gowns and jewelry, try the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation, www.makingmemories.org. Donations are sold. They are in worldwide events and on eBay and the money raised are used to grant terminally ill breast cancer patients their wish.
Step4
For women’s suits, try Dress for Success, www.dressforsuccess.org. They help more than 46,000 women each year have the proper outfit to go on job interviews.
Step5
For formal dresses, shoes, and accessories for teens, try The Glass Slipper Project, www.glassslipperproject.org. They are starting to have this type of project everywhere.
Step6
For computers, printers, fax machines, try National Cristina Foundation, www.cristina.org. They hook up with charities to give these computers to disabled students.
Step7
There are also your local programs that are in need of these items. The homeless shelters need the old computers so that the people can put job applications online.

The women’s abuse shelters can use old cell phone, especially the ones that you can put cards on. They give these to every woman that has been abused or is at risk for violence.

The help that you donate will help change the lives of the recipients and you will be proud that you help another person.
