  • Camera
  • Your imagination

    Christmas Craft Items

  1. Step 1

Have your children take a group holiday photo of themselves. Have them dress in holiday-style clothes and pose near a fireplace, Christmas tree, a snowman they built or a pan of fresh baked cookies. Let them pick out the location and take as many snapshots as you need in fun poses.

  2. Step 2

After the photos have developed (make one copy for each frame) figure out what craft items will best compliment your photo theme. If you took photos in front of the tree, stars, ornaments and candy may be your best bet; if you took photos in the snow, then snowflakes and snowmen would be best. You can also use whatever theme you wish, as long as it is holiday-oriented!

  3. Step 3

Have an adult heat up the glue gun and take the glass out of each picture frame. Carefully glue ornaments and small craft items to the outside of the frame until you get the effect you like. Allow to dry for one hour.

  4. Step 4

Once frames are dry, have an adult help you add the glass and the photo to the frame. Voila! You now have a great holiday gift for grandma and grandpa and aunts and uncles, as well as a great reminder of the holidays.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take photos with a digital camera and use your computer or a photo center's computer to crop, get rid of red eye, and add text to your photos.
  • Visit discount stores for inexpensive craft items and frames to minimize the cost of this craft.
  • If you do not have a glue gun, or want to avoid using one, craft glue will also work on most surfaces.
  • NEVER let children handle glass or a glue gun on their own. Even if they are old enough, still be sure to assist them to avoid burns and cuts.
