Love gelatin desserts? Here is one that is easy to make and can be eaten without fear of sugar! If you would prefer your sugar, this recipe works great with regular gelatin. It's easy to make and takes about one half hour start to finish. You can make this ahead and have a wonderfully light dessert at any dinner party. Due to the egg whites, I would suggest making this a few times in advance before actually trying it out cold turkey on your guests. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 package of sugar-free gelatin (cherry)
  • 2 egg whites
  • Wire whisk
  • Medium-sized bowl
  • 6 sherbet glasses (optional)
  • Whipped topping (optional)

    How to make Cherry Fluff (sugar-free)

  1. Step 1

    Bring 1 cup of water to boil.

  2. Step 2

    Dissolve gelatin in the boiling water.

  3. Step 3

    Stir in cold water and chill in your refrigerator until the gelatin is the consistency of an unbeaten egg white.

  4. Step 4

    Remove from refrigerator and beat the gelatin with the wire whisk until it is light and fluffy.

  5. Step 5

    In a medium-sized bowl, beat egg whites to form soft peaks with the wire whisk.

  6. Step 6

    Fold in whipped gelatin until smooth.

  7. Step 7

    If you have 6 sherbet glasses, pour the mixture evenly into each one and chill until firm.

  8. Step 8

    Serve with whipped cream. There are sugar-free varieties on the market shelves that taste good!

Tips & Warnings
  • You can add any flavor gelatin to this recipe. Grape (if you can find it) works great!
  • If sugar is not an issue go ahead and use a regular gelatin (any flavor).
