Here are some useful tips to keep in mind when learning a new language. If taken seriously, you will be spitting new words and phrases in no time.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Courses (class/online)
  • Interaction
  • Commitment

Step1
Start of like any other tutorial. Take the very basic tutorials which teach you the most important fundamentals: punctuation, pronunciation, and other grammatical rules. Take some time to learn basic words and phrases, and slowly move on to know how and when to use them.
Step2
It is always best to take courses with live people. Join a class, interact with your teacher and classmates. Take at least 30-60 minutes to practice what you were taught every day.
Step3
Whether you are alone or with someone, practice and say any sentence you need to let out of your system. This will slowly shape the way you focus on your accents and overall pronunciation of words.
Step4
Do not be afraid of quizzes and tests. In fact, this should be very exciting, for they will reveal your specific knowledge of the language. If you did not score well after some good practice, keep in mind you are exploring new territory, therefore the learning curve could range from very easy to moderately difficult. If you fail, analyze what you might be doing wrong. Focus on your words and phrases.
Step5
Join a group of people that want to learn as much as you do, such as a conversation group. You will often find people with difficulty speaking the new language, in which case you can learn from their mistakes. But most importantly, however, you could also take notes from a fluent speaker. Study the individual's use of sentences, analyze the flow of their words, and do not stop taking notes. You will be grateful later.
Step6
There are many options to learn a new language through computer software as well. Purchase a professional application and use it as much as you need to, especially on your days off from school (this way you do not lose that sweet learning motivation.) Although these programs are generally useful, I suggest you always try some interaction in person, since a person's verbal and body language can be priceless when compared to self-learning.
Step7
Serious about learning? Visit the country of the language's origin. Spend as much time as you can there. You will gain incredible knowledge by studying the people around you. You will quickly learn words they use in their everyday lives, which range from small talk to more involved conversations.
Step8
Be your own boss! DO NOT let anyone get you down. Remember that self-esteem is the main key to completing all of the above. Some people get pleasure from torturing others. Let this be a lesson to them and show them your true colors.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not stop learning for long, or you might find yourself losing all that precious information once learned.
