Things You’ll Need:

  • Shampoo Cape
  • Four Butterfly Clips
  • Hair Color Applicator Bottle
  • Plastic Gloves
  • Clean Towels
  • Timer
  • Hair Color of Your Choice
  • Proper Developer

How to Apply Hair Color for a Retouch

Step1
Place the shampoo cape around your neck to avoid getting any color on your clothing.
Step2
Using your clips, divide the hair into four sections.
Step3
Mix the color and developer together into the applicator bottle. Shake well.
Step4
Apply the color to the new growth only, beginning in the front sections. Make sure to apply to new growth only, working your way around the head, one section at a time.
Step5
After the appropriate processing time has been reached, take remaining hair color and apply all over your hair to freshen up the ends. Leave in 3 to 5 minutes.
Step6
Shampoo hair color out of hair with your favorite shampoo and conditioner. Style as desired.

  • Always select a brand name product for your color.
  • Check your hair throughout process to make sure the color is evenly distributed.
  • Do not leave hair color in hair too long; It could damage your hair.
