Are you interested in selling on eBay? If you are, you are definitely not alone. In the past few years, the popularity of eBay has skyrocketed. Many individuals now use eBay as a way to make money from home. The only problem is that this competition can make your success more difficult.

The best way to be a successful, profitable eBay seller is to make your eBay auction listings standout from the rest. For tips on how you can do so, please continue reading on.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet Access
  • eBay.com Account
  • Digital Camera
  1. Step 1

Choose a Detailed eBay Auction Headline with Keywords

Your eBay auction headline is the first thing that eBay buyers will see and it may even be the only thing. That is why it is important that you choose the right headline. Your eBay auction headline is also important for searches that eBay buyers will perform. Make sure it is detailed, but right to the point.

For example, if you are selling an Old Navy toddler clothing set, your eBay auction heading should look something like this “Old Navy outfit – Toddler – 4T – Pants and Shirt - NEW”

  2. Step 2

    Provide Accurate, Detailed Descriptions

When listing an eBay auction, you will have to write up a description of your item. Yes, you will want to be short and to the point, but you will also want to post as much information as possible. Be sure to include the condition of the item in question, name brand, and size, even if this was already mentioned in your eBay auction headline.

All eBay auction descriptions should be in a readable font with short paragraphs and sentences.

  3. Step 3

    Post Detailed Pictures

All eBay auctions should come with pictures, as many eBay buyers automatically skip over those that do not. eBay allows you one free picture with each auction listing. Additional pictures can be posted free through an online photo sharing website, like PhotoBucket.

Be sure that all of your eBay auction pictures are clear, viewable, and that all items are shown.

  4. Step 4

Choose to Have a Gallery Picture

For a small fee, you can have a gallery picture appear next to your eBay auction headline. This picture will be viewable before an eBay buyer even clicks on your eBay auction link. Although extra in cost, this is a wise investment and it is one that will make your eBay auction listings standout.

  5. Step 5

    Offer Free or Discounted Shipping

Many eBay buyers are able to see shipping costs along with your eBay auction headlines when they perform a search. If you have high shipping, this may turn off potential buyers. For that reason, you may want to offer at least affordable or discounted shipping. However, free shipping is likely to increase your eBay auction page views.

Tips & Warnings
  • eBay buyers have thousands of auction listings to choose from, so be sure to make yours clear and easy to read.
