Are you looking to sell on eBay or did you just get started? If so, you should know the importance of eBay feedback. Most eBay buyers will not do business with an eBay seller that has a poor feedback score. That is why it is important that you take steps to improve your eBay feedback or at least keep it at an acceptable level. Continue reading on for ways that you can do this.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Provide Detailed eBay Auction Descriptions and Pictures

One of the biggest complaints of eBay sellers is not receiving what they had expected. To prevent this from happening to you, you will want to provide as much information as possible. Detailed descriptions and clear pictures are two of the best ways to eliminate confusion.

  2. Step 2

    Answer All Questions

If an eBay buyer is not satisfied with the information that you provided in your eBay auction listing or if they would like more information, they may ask you a question. This question should appear in the “Messages,” section on your “My eBay.” Be sure to answer all questions. If the eBay seller leaving you feedback is one that asked a question, your quick response may play a role in the eBay feedback left.

  3. Step 3

Have Constant Communication with All eBay Buyers

Unfortunately, many eBay sellers simply receive their money, ship out their merchandise, and then be done with the transaction in question. If you want to maintain a positive eBay feedback rating, this is not what you will want to do.

You will want to have constant communication with all of your eBay buyers. For example, after your eBay auction listing as ended, send your invoice with a simple thank you note. Once you have shipped out the item in question, send a notification email to your buyer. After a few days have passed, send a follow-up message to ensure that the item was received and that the buyer is happy.

  4. Step 4

Address All Complaints in a Timely Matter

If an eBay buyer is unsatisfied with your purchase, there is a good chance that they will first contact you for more information, possibly even a refund. The last thing that you will want to do is avoid these messages, as they are a quick way to receive poor eBay feedback.

Although you do not necessarily have to issue a refund, you may want to, depending on the complaint at hand.

  5. Step 5

    Do Not Overcharge on Shipping

What is nice about being an eBay seller is that you get to set your eBay auction prices, as well as your shipping costs. Unfortunately, this is where some eBay sellers get greedy. Of course, you can set your eBay auction for as high as you want, but you will want to be fair with shipping. You can leave a little “wiggle room,” but refrain from outright overcharging your eBay buyers on shipping, as this may have an impact on your eBay feedback.
