Things You'll Need:

  • Internet Connection
  • Recording Software and Equipment
  • Daily Knowledge of Sports
  1. Step 1

Decide your length. Is what you have to say legitimately going to take a half-hour or hour to be said, or can it be condensed into five minute sound bites?

  2. Step 2

Create a list of hot-button sports topics you want to discuss. Keep the topics timely. You don’t want to talk about something that happened weeks ago and has already been forgotten.

  3. Step 3

Edit your list to fit your length.

  4. Step 4

Create an outline. You want to have the outline of segments, the information contained in each segment, where you want to place interviews, etc. all worked out in advance. The show will flow much better that way.

  5. Step 5

    Record the show.

  6. Step 6

Listen to the playback. The great thing about podcasting software is that it is recording everything into computer files. If there is something that you don’t think you have the way you want it, you can just re-record that segment and insert it in post production.

  7. Step 7

Edit the podcast. If it is a little long, trim it. If you want to have sounds or commercial breaks in between segments, then insert them.

  8. Step 8

Post the podcast on the Internet.
