Step1
10 Gallon Tank
You need a ten gallon aquarium to hold one crayfish. If you want to hold two you should get a twenty gallon aquarium. They are terrestrial so it's best to keep them by themselves.
Step2
Aquarium Gravel
Measure the bottom area of the aquarium in inches and divided by twenty, that's how many pounds of aquarium gravel you need.
Step3
My Crayfish Aquarium
Add the plants in. If you have real plants let the plants to grow and settle for three weeks. If fake wait for about 3 days before adding the crayfish.
Step4
You need at least three hiding spots for each crayfish.
Step5
Change 25% of the water every two weeks. If you don't have filters change them everyday.
Step6
Shrimp Pellets
Feed them mostly shrimp pellets, but they eat a lot of thing form vegetables to fruits. Do not over feed only two pellet for each crayfish everyday. Feed at dusk and dawn.
Step7
Crayfish like darkness because they are nocturnal, so don't disturb them a lot.
Step8
Aquasafe
If you are using tap water you need to put some aquasafe in it.
Step9
You absolutely need a tight lid they will escape. I learned the hard way when my crayfish died.
