How to Find a New Year's Eve Dress that Dazzles

For many, New Year's Eve is all about getting that kiss at midnight. But even if that isn't your goal you still want to look great and grab a lot of attention, so finding the perfect party dress is critical.

• A party or function to attend on New Year's Eve

1. Look through fashion or women's magazines to get a sense of what the holiday trends are.

2. Cut out any dresses that you like.

3. Look online to see if any nearby retailers are carrying these dresses and, if so, how much they are.

4. Go to the mall or another shopping center and observe the storefront windows. Look for something that's a bit festive: maybe a black dress with a gold or silver accent or a gem-colored dress that would go perfectly with a bag you already own or a plain black dress with a pair of really nice gold heels.

5. Try on a few dresses that engage in the latest trends but still look flattering on you.

6. Pick an ensemble that is fun, flirty and flattering.
