This powerful purple shot carries a risqué name and packs a strong, flavorful punch. It's a shot menu staple at both trendy night spots and disreputable dive bars across the United States. Read on to learn how to make it yourself.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A half shot of vodka
  • One shot of De Kuyper Raspberry Liqueur
  • Two squeezes of lime juice
  • Boston shaker
  • Strainer
  • Shot glass
  • A handful of ice cubes
  1. Step 1

Pour the vodka, liqueur and lime juice into the glass tumbler of your Boston shaker and add a handful of ice.

  2. Step 2

Place the stainless steel shaker tumbler upside-down on the glass tumbler, thump with the heel of your hand to create a seal and use both hands to vigorously shake until the stainless tumbler is almost too cold to hold.

  3. Step 3

Slap the stainless tumbler with the side of your hand at the point where it meets the glass tumbler to break the seal. Set the stainless tumbler aside and place the strainer onto the glass tumbler.

  4. Step 4

Strain the drink into a shot glass and serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can certainly use a cobbler shaker instead of a Boston shaker to make this drink, but you won't look as cool while mixing it. If you don't have a shaker at all, pour the ingredients into a highball glass with ice and stir quickly for at least one minute.
  • Never drink and drive.
