How to Plan a Coketail Party for Prom
Put a twist on the typical pre-prom gathering with a "Coketail" party. Grab some sodas, ice cream and champagne glasses, and get the party started. Take plenty of pictures to post online and share. A nice addition is to create a designated primping station for the girls to touch up their hair and makeup before everyone goes to dinner or prom. Does this Spark an idea?

- Playlist with your choice of music
- Cameras -- video and digital
- Champagne glasses
- Prom decorations
- Appetizers
- Primping station with hairspray, etc.

Get permission from your parents to have a pre-prom party. Ask them to document the event with a digital camera or video camera.

Send out electronic invitations to your "Coketail" party. Make sure the timing of the event gives everyone a chance to grab dinner before the prom.

Buy Coca-Cola, vanilla ice cream, straws and appetizers of your choice. Pick out decorations to match your prom theme or school colors. Make sure you have plenty of glasses, an ice cream scoop and napkins.

Gather the music for your playlist. Burn CDs or set up your music player. Have the songs in order and ready to go.

Decorate the dining area of your home. Set up the glasses and the straws. About five minutes before party time, bring out the soda, ice cream and appetizers. As guests arrive, hand out glasses with two scoops of ice cream and pour in the soda. Be careful not to spill the soda as you pour.

Enjoy a "Coketail" toast to a fun evening and take pictures of each couple before you leave for dinner or prom.
