It sounds like an oxymoron. But if you want a healthier alternative to the meat lovers pizza that’s extremely fast and easy to make, this is the recipe for you. It’s perfect for vegetarians that are new to the game or meat eaters looking to curb their fat intake.

From Quick Guide: Vegetarian Recipes
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • One frozen plain cheese pizza of your favorite brand
  • One box of Morningstar Farms Veggie Bacon Strips
  • One package of Morningstar Farms Meal Starters Sausage Style Recipe Crumbles
  • One package of Smart Deli Pepperoni Slices
  • One package of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Conventional oven
  • Microwave oven
  1. Step 1

Buy your ingredients. When selecting the pizza, read the ingredients list carefully to ensure that the pizza does not contain meat sauce or other meat products. Look for frozen cheese pizzas low in fat or calories, although any one will do.

  2. Step 2

Preheat your oven per the directions on your chosen pizza and remove the pizza from the box.

  3. Step 3

Estimate the number of veggie bacon strips needed by the size of your pizza. Remove this number of strips from the box and microwave them according to the preparation directions. When they are crispy, crumble them with your hands and sprinkle them on the pizza.

  4. Step 4

Sprinkle the Sausage Style Recipe Crumbles over the pizza. Estimate the amount by the size of the pizza.

  5. Step 5

Place the vegetarian pepperoni slices on the pizza. Again, use your best judgment per your pizza size.

  6. Step 6

Top off the pizza with a sprinkling of mozzarella cheese. There should already be plenty of cheese on the frozen pizza, so just use enough to lightly cover the toppings so that they won’t fall off when the pizza is done.

  7. Step 7

Bake the pizza according to the directions on the pizza box. You may need to bake it slightly longer than suggested, but by no more than three or four minutes.

  8. Step 8

    Slice and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • Don’t overload your pizza with toppings. This is a great tasting, easy recipe, but it may take some trial and error to get it just the way you like it.
