Your first wedding anniversary should be very special. You've made it through a whole year and you want it to lead to many more. Read on to learn how to make your first wedding anniversary special.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Your anniversary cake or a slice of your wedding cake
  • Your wedding album or pictures of your wedding
Step1
Plan a special night. This can be to your favorite restaurant or to the place you first met.
Step2
Eat your anniversary cake or a piece of your wedding cake for dessert. Many restaurants will serve your cake to you if you make the request ahead of time.
Step3
When you get home, sit on the couch and thumb through your wedding album and pictures.
Step4
Exchange your presents. The first anniversary is the "paper" year, so you may want to incorporate that into your gift. This could be a book, a poem, love coupons that are good for massages and such, or tickets to a play, game or event.
Step5
Don't forget to re-consummate the marriage!

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure your cake is defrosted before it is served!

on 8/4/2008 I got an anniversary gift from my husband which I can never forget. Without telling me, he got a bunch of pictures from our dating days and got a beautiful video made from them. It was perfectly synchronized to music and because it was professionally made, the results were awesome! It was so romantic and touching, both of us cried for a while watching our 'pre-kids-fun-days' come alive on the screen!! He got the DVD done at http://www.smilingsnaps.com and I think it wasn't expensive either, considering that everything was custom-made.

on 3/20/2008 Cute! Our cake was buried in my mother in laws freezer 3 hours away, so we didn't follow the tradition to have some of it! My friend just got married and had everyone write a message to them as they arrive to the wedding on special note cards and placed in envelopes. On their one year anniversary, they are going to open up and read all the messages.
