For comic book fans, attending a comic book convention is a fun but expensive way to enjoy their hobby. There are lots of things to do at a convention, including tons of exhibits, a plethora of panels and the chance to meet many comic book creators. It can be overwhelming unless you take the time first to schedule how you will spend your convention.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet access
  • Watch or timepiece
  1. Step 1

Decide what is most important to you at the convention. Is it shopping for old comics and other collectibles? Is it meeting your favorite comic book writer or artist? Is it visiting the displays? Is it attending the panels to hear interviews and news about upcoming events?

  2. Step 2

Get a schedule of the planned events for the show. Any major comic book convention will have a website that will include a complete schedule of all the planned activities, such as panel discussions and creator signings. If you buy your admission ticket in advance, you may be sent materials in the mail, including a schedule of events.

  3. Step 3

Create a blank schedule that covers all the times you will be at the show.

  4. Step 4

Go through the convention schedule and mark all the events you would like to attend. Prioritize the events that are most important to you and add those events to your blank schedule.

  5. Step 5

Bring your schedule with you to the show and have fun!

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you plan plenty of time in your schedule for lunch and potentially other breaks. You may want to bring a sack lunch to the show to save time and money.
  • Carry a watch or other timepiece so you don’t miss your planned activities.
  • Be flexible so you can attend last minute events that come up on the day of the show. Don’t stress if you don’t get to absolutely everything on your schedule.
  • Allow time at the beginning of the show to get familiar with the layout of the convention area. Walk through the entire area if possible to see what surprises you might find.
  • In the event you cannot get a convention schedule before the show, bring a blank schedule with you. Convention schedules should be available once you check in. Take some time at the start to fill in your blank schedule.
