Things You'll Need:
- face masks
- nail polish
- back massager
- lotion
- foot lotion
-
Step 1
Face MaskBegin by going shopping. Wal-mart is an inexpensive place to get many items for many girls. Start out by buying individual 90-cent face masks or a tube of face mask for two or three dollars. Look for inexpensive, scented lotions for skin.
-
Step 2
Foot lotionAnother thing to look for is foot lotion or bath beads. The girls can stick their feet in a bathtub full of water that is scented. Or they can use the scrub to make their feet feel relaxed, clean, and refreshed. The warm water and scent of the bath beads in the water will make them feel pampered and at ease.
-
Step 3
Nail PolishChoose several colors of an inexpensive nail polish. The selection will make the girls feel like they have plenty of options. If you feel like spending a bit more go for nail files, an inexpensive nail dryer, or some sort of nail care kit. This will make the fingernail section of the party last longer and the girls will have more fun. Have the girls do each others nails. If you want, but stickers or other decorations for the nails for after the pain is applied.
-
Step 4
Tween MagazinesSet up your party around the house. Set up a table for nails (covered in newspaper). Fill the bathtub with water and drop some bath beads in. Set up a station to apply the face masks. In this area set up a few chairs and scatter magazines for young girls--they can lounge in this area after they have soaked their feet and applied the masks.
-
Step 5
RobeMake the house feel like a salon or spa in anyway that you can. Invite the guests to bring robes and pajamas to make them feel relaxed right from the beginning. If there are a couple of willing adults then set up a massage area for massages or back rubs. Any young girl will have plenty of ideas of how they want their spa party to go--these are just a few tips for beginners.
-
Step 6
YogaAnother fun activity is meditation or yoga. Both of these are fun, relaxing, group activities that can bring the kids altogether, instead of in stations. Light candles and do some breathing exercises. You can find the perfect instructions for this online.
-
Step 7
Fruit PlatterThe food part of the plan is rather inexpensive as well but can get tricky to make spa food appeal to tween girls. Try fruits such as apple slices, strawberries, melons, kiwis and grapes. Make a platter of it. Also try mixed nuts, chocolate dipped pretzels or strawberries. If you need something a bit more filling try tuna wraps and cheese slices. For drinks try ice water, flavored water, and teas.
-
Step 8
Spa Gift BagIf you are interested and the budget allows, try a small gift bag for the girls to take home: this is especially good for birthday parties. Try small candles, bottles of nail polish, toe separaters for at-home pedicures, bubble bath, or lotion. Any of these things would be fun gift bag items to make the girls remember the fun times they had at your spa party!
