During the summer months each year (May - September), Victoria San Juan Cruises runs a passenger ferry between Bellingham, WA and Victoria, BC that goes through the San Juan Islands. You can make a reservation over the phone or through their website (no waiting in line!).

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Identification for entry into Canada
  • Credit card (if making a reservation over the phone or through their website)

Step1
Decide when you want to go to Victoria. You can do a day trip, or an overnight stay. The ferry between Bellingham and Victoria runs daily from mid-May through the end of September each year.
Step2
Set up your reservation - it can be done over the phone by calling 1-800-443-4552 or through the Victoria San Juan Cruises website (www.whales.com)
Step3
On travel day: Make sure you have your identification ready for entrance into Canada. Bring a light jacket or windbreaker - although there's plenty of indoor seating on the Victoria Star 2, you'll want extra clothing if you go outside on the boat. Bring a camera, video camera and/or binoculars.

Tips & Warnings

  • The peak travel season is July and August each year - book a few days in advance during those months.
