If both members of a couple have a birthday that falls around the same time, why not have the wedding on a nearby date and throw a fun birthday-themed wedding? With a little creativity, you can incorporate birthday party ideas into your reception and have a unique and memorable party. Here's how.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Creativity
  1. Step 1

Create birthday-themed invitations. Use graphics such as birthday cakes. Include text such as, "Rachel and Stewart are celebrating their birthdays this year by getting married."

  2. Step 2

Replace the traditional flower centerpieces with balloon centerpieces. Just as you would with flowers, you can pick balloons in your wedding's colors. You can decorate other parts of the reception hall with balloons as well.

  3. Step 3

Give wedding favors that double as birthday favors. How about kazoos engraved with the couple's names and wedding dates? Or birthday hats in the wedding colors?

  4. Step 4

Play wedding games that double as birthday games. How about a wedding pinata decorated in the shape of a heart and decorated the colors of the wedding?

  5. Step 5

No wedding or birthday is complete without a cake, so create a cake that reflects birthday themes. Perhaps it can be decorated with big butter cream flowers. Perhaps you can order a special cake that looks like a stack of wrapped gifts. Or how about a big cupcake tower?

Tips & Warnings
  • You don't have to go all out with the birthday theme. If you want, choose just a few birthday touches as a special flourish.
  • Get the kids at the wedding involved. After all, it's a birthday party.
  • If you're planning a very elegant wedding, this might not be the best idea.
