Things You'll Need:
- A computer
- An email account
- An image
-
Step 1
To add remove or copy an image on craigslist you must consider their image size restrictions. Craigslist.com is a great site used by millions of people daily. In order to limited it's memory and server consumption and to maintain their "free to list" costs they limit the image size you can upload and email. The image limit is basically equivalent to an image slightly larger than a thumbnail. I cannot find a specific number even on their website.
Here is an example of a Craigslist.com listing:

Step 2
If you are posting an image on Craigslist.com to accompany your description you are limited to four small images. You will see a form at the link below:
https://post.craigslist.org/phx/S/pts/none/x
Steps:
-Choose the category you would like to sell your item in.
(I chose to sell a boat as an example)
-Write your description, title and email you want the responses to be emailed to.
-choose the button "Add/Edit images button
-Choose the "Browse" button. A new little window will appear. Choose your image from your computer and hit the "Open" button.
-When you have completed filling everything out hit the "continue" button. Your images and info will upload promptly.
-There is another couple steps to complete before you post is completely uploaded and active on the web. Follow them all.
** Important note: If your image does exceed the regulated size the page will take forever to load up. There is also a strong chance you will lose all of your text as the page reloads to tell you the image was to large. Total bummer -
Step 3
If you are copying an image off of a craigslist.com posting this is how you do it.
Steps:
-Right click on the image on the page.
(My sample CL page: http://phoenix.craigslist.org/boa/505154714.html)
-In the new window that appears choose "Save picture as"
-A new window will appear. choose a "image name" and hit save. The image will save in the folder listed at the top. -
Step 4
You can re-size your image with software on your computer. If you double click on the image it should open with whatever software is installed on your computer. The option you are looking for to re-size the image is "edit" or "re-size". Save the re-sized image with a new name so you do not overwrite your original image.

on 12/13/2007 Hey thanks. I was just going to list some stuff on there tomorrow for the first time and did not know that they do have restrictions. Thanks for the step by step.

on 12/12/2007 Good point about resizing. They do have restrictions. And sometimes you have to end up deleting them because you'll get a message "file size too large" if you try more than 3 in some cases (though they allow four).
