1. There are so many malls to shop for clothes and gifts. Go to Fashion Valley, Hazard Center, Horton Plaza and Mission Valley.

2. Restaurants are aplenty in San Diego. For the best Mexican food, go to Old Town San Diego for Rockin’ Baja Lobster or the Hamberguesa.

3. Want to dance? Go to Incahoots in Mission Valley, or try Bullwinkle’s downtown.

4. Have kids? Check out the big roller coaster on Mission Beach, or the surf at sunset cliffs. LaJolla is great for tide pool searches and snorkeling.

5. Know that San Diego is home to some of the best beaches in the state.
