Driving in Orange County traffic is no easy task. Here are some tips to help ease the frustration.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Cell phone with headset or speaker system
  • Radio
  • CD 6-disc changer (minimum requirement)
  • Patience

Step1
Since talking on a cell phone while driving is now prohibited in most states, especially California, beware while driving in Orange County traffic!
Step2
Stay alert. Not everyone pays attention. Keep your radio to a local station so you can flip to it when necessary for traffic reports, should you get into a crunch.
Step3
If you can carpool, do it! Not only are you helping keep our planet green, you are saving fuel, giving a friend a ride and giving other single drivers more room on the other side.
Step4
Know your freeways. The worst thing to do in Orange County is to not know where you are going. Read a map, study it, and know your route before you leave. You’ll appreciate the fact that you know where you are going and other drivers will appreciate that you aren’t going to cut them off at the last second to get off at the next exit.
Step5
Be sure to carry plenty of music that's calming and pleasant. You’ll need it to get to work, get home and back again. That’s about 6 hours of music.

Tips & Warnings

  • Fill your fuel tank before you hit the freeway. You do not want to run out of gas with everyone around you doing 95 mph.
