Missing loved ones who can't make it to grandma's house for Christmas or are you stuck at home for the holidays because the kids are too young to fly or the price of traveling isn't in your budget this year? You don't have to miss out if each family group videotapes their holiday events and sends then to each other afterwards. And you can do some simple games and things to make the videos extra entertaining. Read on to learn more.

  1. Step 1

    Acquire a decent video camera and be sure it's charged at all times so you don't miss a precious minute. Videotape specific events plus get some candid shots and personal greetings and wishes on tape. Put the older kids in charge of some of the taping so everyone gets involved and on camera.

  2. Step 2

    Some cute ideas to enhance your video experience should include the whole family. Just make it a rule that everyone participates! You can sing and dance or play games on camera for additional entertainment value.

  3. Step 3

    Sing on camera the Twelve Days of Christmas with each person taking a line in the song.

  4. Step 4

    Make up a holiday trivia quiz, make copies for everyone and videotape the game. Make the questions silly and see what funny answers you get from friends and family.

  5. Step 5

    Do a picture exchange under the tree or have family member's donate to the charity of their choice in another family member's name. It's a great way to give a gift that lasts and teaches the true meaning of giving not getting for the holiday season.

  6. Step 6

    Make copies of your video and send to those loved ones who couldn't be with you for the holidays. Be sure they do the same so you can swap videos and feel a part of each others special events.
