    Peel the outer layer of the carrots skin. Cut the carrot up into 1-inch long cylinders.

  2. Step 2

    Make two cuts across one end of the carrot forming an X. DO not cut all the way down the carrot piece.

  3. Step 3
    Carve carefully.

    Carve away each section until it resembles a flower petal. Cut away the middle.

    Boil the carrot flowers in salted water until they are are slightly soft.
    Remove the carrot flowers from the boiling water and immerse them in ice water. They can be prepared up to a day ahead of time.
