1. Depending on where you are shopping this holiday season do not hesitate to ask the sales clerk if they will provide you with a box. Most major stores will provide gift boxes during the holidays. Some will even include tissue paper.

2. If you missed last years after Christmas sales you don't have to worry. You can still find wrapping paper that is inexpensive. Shop wisely. Look for the most paper for your buck. The paper just gets ripped and thrown away so it is not necessary to buy the best quality. Shop at discount stores and stick to the widest longest paper that you can buy.

3. If you do not have ribbon at home left over from last Christmas or birthdays this will be your next buy. Shop for long ribbon in either silver or gold. Silver and gold are universal colors and can be used throughout the rest of the year. Shop at discount stores. There is no need to purchase expensive ribbon.

4. Finally decorate the package. Skip the pre-made bows. Pre-made bows are a waste of money. You can make bows at a fraction of the cost. If you know how to make an elaborate bow with ribbon great. If not, either tie an elementary bow with ribbon, or just curl inexpensive ribbon with your scissors. Packages do not have to bare bows.
