Things You'll Need:
- 1 lb clarified butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 6 cups flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- Sesame seeds

Step 1
Cream together the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl.

Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Mix in the vanilla.

Stir together the baking soda, baking powder and flour in a small bowl.

Add the flour mixture, slowly, to the butter and sugar mixture. Mix ingredients well.

Refrigerate the dough one hour.

Remove the dough from the refrigerator.

Roll one tbsp of the dough into a long strip, the size of a pencil.

Fold the strip in half.

Step 10
Take the two ends of the strip and twist them in a "braid."

Place the braided dough onto a cookie sheet.

Step 12
Repeat steps 8 through 11 until you have used up all the dough.

Brush the tops of the cookies with beaten egg.

Lightly sprinkle the tops of the cookies with sesame seeds.

Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
