The Stooges were way over par!
The Stooges were way over par!

The Three Stooges were the most manic and, in the minds of many, funniest comedy team in history. The slapstick style developed during their Vaudeville days has entertained generations of Americans. Although they are certainly appreciated more by the male of the species, many women also admit their love for the three goofy guys.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Three Stooges videos
  • A mood to laugh
  1. Step 1

Strip your mind of all its concerns. An empty head is most conducive to maximizing the Three Stooges experience.

  2. Step 2

Appreciate the sound effects. Why is it funny every time Moe hits Curly over the head with a hammer or slaps Larry in the face? You got it--it's the sound effects.

  3. Step 3

Begin any Stooge-A-Thon with a classic short, such as the one in which they serve as plumbers during a ritzy cocktail party. Laugh as Curly imprisons himself in his own plumbing in the bathtub.

  4. Step 4

Watch at least one Shemp short. The Fourth Stooge, considered one of the most brilliant comedians of his time, was highly underrated. Check out the one in which he must find a bride in a few hours in order to be granted the estate of Uncle Caleb. Hilarious!

  5. Step 5

Conclude the Stooge-A-Thon with any personal favorite. You are assured to walk away in a happy-go-lucky mood!

Tips & Warnings
  • Get your kids involved in any Stooge-A-Thon. The Three Stooges became increasingly difficult to find on TV in the 2000s, so they might need a little help from their parents to get turned on to the kings of slapstick.
  • Don't watch any Joe or Curly Joe shorts or movies! This can't be stressed enough! Moe didn't even hit those guys and they weren't funny! Anything in color won't be funny! Warning! Danger, Will Robinson!
