Step1
Go Through Your Home
If you are like many other individuals, there is a good chance that you have items in your home that you do not need or do not use anymore. These items can be anything from home décor to toys to clothing. Consider selling these items on eBay.
In fact, new eBay sellers are encouraged to start out inside their homes. Doing so gives them a good idea as to whether or not selling on eBay is right for them, without having to spend any money on merchandise.
Step2
Visit Your Local Yard Sales
Yard sales are another great place to find things to sell on eBay. This is where the saying “one person’s trash is another person’s treasure,” may help you see profits. Yard sales are also nice as most items are afforded priced. This leaves you the best opportunity to make a profit.
In addition to traditional yard sales, be on the lookout for bag sales. These are sales where you able to fill up a shopping bag for a set price, usually only $1 or $2. Estate sales are also a good way to find things to sell on eBay.
Step3
Visit Your Local Thrift Stores
While many individuals have yard sales when they want to clean out their homes, not all do. Many prefer simply donating their unwanted goods to thrift stores. That is why you will want to visit your local thrift stores, as you never know what you may find available.
When searching your local thrift stores for things to sell on eBay, be sure to ask about any special deals or discounts. For example, your local thrift store may have a 50% off day or another similar promotion on a weekly or a monthly basis.
Step4
Research Drop Shipping Companies
Drop shipping companies are increasing in popularity, as they are a convenient way to sell on eBay. With drop shipping, you sell merchandise that you don’t even have in your possession! Once an order has been placed, you turn around and place an order with your drop shipping company and then they will ship out the merchandise for you, often with your name right on the package!
As previously stated, drop shipping has increased in popularity on eBay. For that reason, you may first want to examine the eBay website. Be cautious of multiple eBay auction listings that have the same or similar merchandise that you would end up selling.
Step5
Examine Wholesale Suppliers
Buying things to sell on eBay wholesale is a great way to make a profit. You should receive a discounted price for purchasing wholesale merchandise. Buying wholesale is also nice, as you should have an unlimited number of options. It is possible to purchase wholesale clothing, toys, books, DVDs, and much more.
While you will find some wholesale suppliers who offer drop shipping services, most traditional wholesale suppliers will ship the merchandise to you.
