  • Dropper, only if your essential oil does not come with a reducer on the bottle

How to Make Aromatherapy Massage Oil for Your Baby

Step1
Pour 2 oz. of the grapeseed oil into the sterile plastic bottle.
Step2
Add 10 drops of the essential oil into the sterile plastic bottle with the grapeseed oil.
Step3
Place the cap on the bottle-shake bottle gently enough to mix the oils without creating any air bubbles in them.
Step4
Remove the cap from the bottle and pour the last 2 oz. of grapeseed oil into the bottle.
Step5
Place the cap onto the bottle. Shake the bottle again.
Step6
Now you're ready to use the oil on your baby

Tips & Warnings

  • The aromatherapy massage oil can be used before bed to help with sleep, after a bath to moisturize the skin or any other time when your baby needs a calming experience.
  • Store your aromatherapy massage oil in a cool dark place. This will help keep the oils from going bad before you can use all of it. If the oils start to smell bad, throw them away and make a new batch.
  • Use a very small amount of essential oil for a baby, compared to what you may use for yourself, even if it doesn't smell very strong to you.
  • After using the single oils on your baby you can mix the two essential oils as long as the total drops added is still 10.
  • If your baby gets a rash from the use of the aromatherapy massage oil-discontinue use.
  • If your baby gets a rash from one of the essential oils try another one after the rash clears up, If a new rash appears discontinue use.

on 12/11/2007 Great article. I didn't have grapeseed oil, but i mixed lavender essential oil with olive oil..along with some gentle baby essential oil by Young Living. I would rub it on my baby's back and legs before bed and it totally calmed and relaxed her. She would go to sleep without a peep!
