While Oahu may not have snow and sleigh rides during the holidays, it is still a very festive place to celebrate. Here are a few ideas on how to spend Christmastime in Honolulu and around the island.
Visit the Iolani Palace, which is always beautifully decorated during the holidays. The front lawn is strung up with lanterns and the palace is a beautiful place to visit any time of year.
Step2
View the trees and wreaths at Honolulu Hale. The entire Downtown Honolulu area will be decorated with large scale figurines, and the Santa Claus dipping his toes into the waterfall in front of Honolulu Hale is not to be missed.
Step3
Watch "The Christmas Gift of Aloha" show and parade at Ala Moana Center. This annual show is a cheerful Hawaiian rendition of some classic Christmas stories.
Step4
Go to the Christmas brunch buffet at Sam Choy's kitchen. You'll be treated to a delicious spread of brunch foods with a Hawaiian twist--and then you can sleep it off the rest of the day while sunbathing on Waikiki beach.
