One common complaint from employees is their salary. On the one hand, it’s difficult to make ends meet on just $10 an hour. On the other, you need that $10 an hour. So how do you improve your wages without going through the headaches of looking for a better-paying job?

From Quick Guide: Ask for a Raise
Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Work harder than anyone else in the office. Show enthusiasm.

  2. Step 2

Volunteer to stay overtime. This can be difficult since bosses tend to be reluctant to give people overtime. You might want to consider doing so with no pay.

  3. Step 3

Do tasks that are not part of your job description. The main thing is to keep busy all the time. Although it may not seem like it, bosses know how well and hard an employee works and he rewards and punishes accordingly.
