Things You'll Need:
- Washcloth
- Vaseline
- Water
- Dog
- Shampoo
- Conditoner
-
Step 1
First, fill the area you are washing your dog in with water. Place the dog in that area and say soothing words to it. Don't yell! That will only frighten your dog and make it harder to wash it the next time!
-
Step 2
Soak your dog with warm:NOT HOT OR COLD: water. Make sure you don't get the head, eyes, or ears wet.
-
Step 3
Scrub your dog with the shampoo and rinse thoroughly. Then, massage your dog with the conditioner. Brush the fur lightly. Rinse out the conditioner.
-
Step 4
When washing the head you don't want to soak it till they drown. Place a smear of vaseline just above the eye so it will prevent water from getting to the eye. DON'T GET IT IN THE EYE! Wet the wash cloth and soothingly stroke the dog's head with it. Add some soap to the cloth. Brush the ears and then rinse.
-
Step 5
When drying, scruff your dog with a towel till damp. The dog will dry the rest of itself by rubbing around on the ground. Put a towel down so they don't get on your carpet. Dry out the ears with the end of a towel.
You now have a clean dog.
