Install against a wall. This option is great whether or not space is at a premium. Find a space that is wide enough and strong enough to hold your plasma or flat panel TV. Use wall brackets that come with the plasma TV that you bought if you want it to be tilted up or down and sideways. Hang it on a wall above the fireplace for a more dramatic look.

Consider built-in entertainment centers. Put your plasma or flat panel TV on a built-in entertainment center that houses your DVD and CD players as well as speakers.

Think about old dressers. You can re-purpose your old dressers to hold your plasma television in your bedroom. You can puncture holes and remove some drawers to house the DVD or cable boxes. The other drawers can be used to keep your movie collection.

  4. Step 4

Consider an armoire. Although an armoire is used to keep or hide your plasma TV when not in use, it is also a good option to hold and keep your plasma protected from damages. Use an armoire where the doors can be pushed insides for uninterrupted TV viewing.

Buy floor stands. Plasma TVs can be displayed using floor stands specifically built for plasma TVs or flat panel monitors.

Tips & Warnings
  • Check the stands for stability.
  • Before you install the plasma on the wall or by a wall bracket, ensure that you find the studs so that the plasma TV will not fall off after installation.
  • Tighten the screws and test the tilts while holding the plasma to prevent from accidental falling.

on 12/17/2007 Thanks for the information. I looked at the built in above the fire place and it would look great with one off those looping pictures of a fish tank.
