A lie is, telling lies to hurt someone, lies that can eventually hurt someone, or telling a lie to get yourself out of trouble when you know your guilty will always come back and haunt you, maybe not tomorrow or next week, but eventually. A little white lie is, telling a little lie to help someone else from getting hurt is (I believe) OK as long as no one gets hurt from it. I know that a lie is a lie but, I believe what the lie is used for makes a little difference. This is just my opinion.
Lieing.
We have heard the saying, you will burn in hell for lying, I'm not so sure about that, but lying can hurt others as well as get us into a lot of trouble. A lie will usually always come back on us.
Nose grows when we lie.
The story of Pinocchio is another saying we have heard, if you tell a lie your nose will grow, well we all know that's not true, but it does remind us that a lie will come back on you.
Lies hurt us all.
Lying is very hurtful to the person that the lie was about, and can eventually also hurt you. I don't think that we mean to lie to hurt others, but it does hurt.
Be truthful.
Being truthful, even if it hurts you or someone else is the best way to go. Telling the truth might have hurt you or someone else, but at least it was the truth and the truth will not come back to haunt you like the lie will.

It does make a difference what it is used for... like when someone really does not have on a perfume that smells good and it is just choking you half to death, and they ask you if you like it.... you don't want them feeling bad so you say "Sure do, it can even be worn lightly for a romantic ora out at dinner"..
