'Tis the season for giving, but why break the bank? While many Angelenos will head to Robertson Boulevard and Beverly Hills for Christmas gifts, there are cheaper options that are worth the trip. This quick Los Angeles holiday budget shopping guide should help you save a few bucks.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Make a budget for yourself. Write out the names of the people you need to buy gifts for and allot an amount for each person. These amounts should coincide with your total budget.

  2. Step 2

Head downtown to Santee Alley in the Fashion District. It is at the intersection of 12th Street and Figueroa Street. Here you can find handbags, clothes and shoes for men, women and children, and toys for cheap. If you don't find everything you need here to finish your Christmas shopping, don't fret, go to Step 3.

  3. Step 3

Take a trip to Melrose Avenue. There is a reasonably priced side of this famous street priced between La Brea and Fairfax. This is a great place to shop for the trendy women and men in your life.

  4. Step 4

Visit Target or Kmart for discount gadgets and DVDs. Sometimes you can find great gifts for mom and grandma in the home section, and gifts for little ones for cheap in the toys section. Look for gadgets and DVDs for loved ones in the electronics section.

Tips & Warnings
  • Sante Alley and Melrose are least crowded before 3:00 p.m. during the week. Avoid weekends.
