The Pubococcygeus (PC) is known as the love muscle and it’s found in both men and women. The muscle used to stop the urination flow is the PC muscle. Among other functions, the PC muscle increases sexual pleasure. Women with a well-toned love muscle often can reach orgasm easier and men can delay orgasm and prevent premature ejaculation. Men and women can do Kegel exercises to strengthen their PC muscle.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Locate the love muscle. This can be done by intentionally stopping the flow of urine while urinating. The muscle used to do this is the PC muscle. It can also be found by using a finger. For women, stick a finger inside the vagina, and for men, stick a finger inside the anus. While clenching the muscle, feel for pressure around the finger.
Step2
After locating the muscle, make sure the bladder is empty and sit on the floor or remain standing. This is an exercise that can be done at anytime and at any place. Squeeze the muscles and hold for five seconds, working up to 10 seconds. Release and rest for five seconds; when the 10 second contraction has been reached, rest for 10 seconds. Repeat until the muscle tires.
Step3
Optimum results will be achieved by practicing the exercise in sets of repetition. One repetition is squeeze, hold, release. Try doing 10 sets three times a day.
Step4
After conquering the technique, add some variety. Try counting to five slowly and squeezing harder with each count. Or do quick Kegels by squeezing and contracting quickly 10 to 20 times.

Tips & Warnings

  • For maximum benefits, only contract the PC muscle.
  • Remember to breathe.
  • Results should show within eight to 12 weeks.
  • Don’t make a habit of stopping the urine flow because it can lead to not fully emptying the bladder, which causes urinary tract infections.
  • Don’t overdo it. There should be no pain or discomfort when performing the exercise.
