Make Baked Swiss Tuna Sandwiches

Everybody loves sandwiches and most people grew up eating tuna sandwiches. Much like salmon, tuna is a much diversified food and there are many great ways to prepare and enjoy it. If you have never had the pleasure of biting into a delicious and piping hot baked tuna sandwich, here is how you make them!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 Can of White Albacore tuna in water
  • 2 ounces of mayonnaise
  • ½ ounce of mustard
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Pinch of paprika
  • White bread
  • Foil wrap
  • Mixing bowl
  • Cookie sheet
  • Sliced Swiss cheese
  1. Step 1

Purchase the supplies. Take the time to make a list and head to your local grocer. All the supplies you will need should cost you less than $5, if you don’t already have them.

  2. Step 2

Preheat the oven. Since ovens take time to heat up, make sure to preheat your oven to 450 degrees before you start preparing the sandwiches.

  3. Step 3

Prepare the tuna. Open the tuna cans and drain the water. Empty the tuna into a medium sized mixing bowl.

  4. Step 4

Mix the condiments and spices in. Next add the mayo and the mustard, as well as a pinch of black pepper. Stir the tuna in the mixing bowl until it is thoroughly mixed with the added ingredients.

  5. Step 5

Prepare the sandwiches for baking. Lay out 2 pieces of white bread each on their own 1x1 foot piece of foil wrap. Use half of your tuna mixture on 1 slice and the rest on the other slice. Garnish the tuna with a pinch of paprika when finished. Next lay a piece of the sliced Swiss cheese on top of each sandwich. Now you can lay the other slice of bread down to complete the sandwiches.

  6. Step 6

Wrap the sandwiches. Once you have completed preparing the sandwiches wrap them in the foil wrap.

  7. Step 7

Bake for 20 minutes. Place the sandwiches on the cookie sheet and bake them in the oven for 20 minutes.

  8. Step 8

Let cool for 5 minutes and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wear potholders when handling the cookie sheet, lest you get burned.
  • Make sure to keep an eye on the sandwiches and set a timer on the oven so they do not accidentally get burned.
