How to Play Titan Quest--Dream Mastery

Tromping through Ancient Greece, Egypt, and Babylon is always fun. But it's even more fun if you know a few basic guidelines for making your character. Rather than discuss each of the 72 possible combinations, here's a quick guide to the Dream Mastery and how to build your Seer.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Titan Quest computer game
  • Titan Quest Immortal Throne expansion game

Step1
Invest Stat Points. Dream is largely a support mastery, and works well no matter what else you plan to do. Starting by dumping all of your points into strength will allow you to use powerful equipment early, and you can then choose a focus later on.
Step2
Pump Dream Mastery to level 16, and then invest in Lucid Dream and Trance of Convalescence. This will help you kill faster and stay alive, no matter what else you are doing.
Step3
Once you max out Dream Mastery, you'll be able to choose Trance of Wrath, a powerful offensive trance. Since you can only use one trance at once, remove points from Trance of Convalescence to pay for it. This should free you to focus on a second mastery, or maximize the Distortion Wave tree if remaining in Dream.
Step4
Suggested Secondary Masteries: Warfare Mastery, which benefits greatly from the trances and the Phantom Strike. Nature mastery, with wolves that appreciate your Nightmare skill. Or None, to take advantage of the wide range of passive skills Dream Mastery has to offer.
Step5
Equipment: Let your secondary mastery guide your equipment. If you have none, reduced recharge time will assist your Distortion Wave, and a strong weapon will help you make the most use of Phantom Strike.

Tips & Warnings

  • Have a second mastery (even if none) in mind when you start your character, and you'll be better prepared.
  • Don't waste points in multiple trances; pick the one you like, and remove the others to spend elsewhere.
