If you’ve ever registered for an online newsletter or ezine you’ve probably experienced an ecourse. Ecourses are very popular ways to promote curriculum online and they are used to market websites or a blog. Learn how to write a simple ecourse that can be uploaded to your autoresponder.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Think about and list topics that you know well and that you could teach to others. After listing all of the topics you would be able to teach, select one topic to use as the focus of your ecourse.

  2. Step 2

Keep your ecourse simple. An ecourse can be as simple as describing how to do one step of an everday process, such as downloading music to an ipod or setting up a new blog.

  3. Step 3

Write out the steps required in each step of your online ecourse so people can do what you are teaching. After writing the steps, review them from the perspective of a student. Go through your directions to be sure they are clear and in logical order. Then let someone else go through the directions and revise them as needed.

  4. Step 4

Write an introduction for the beginning of each lesson and a summary for the end. Check for typos and grammar. When you are sure you have everything completed, upload the ecourse into your autoresponder and use Internet marketing techniques to promote your online ecourse.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make each "lesson" of your online ecourse brief and easy to read.
  • Stay on topic and write in everyday language.
  • Avoid lengthy lessons in your online ecourse.
  • Use short paragraphs throughout the online ecourse to make it easy to read.
