You’ve probably heard the familiar saying about website content that “content is king.” What this means is that keeping your website content fresh, timely, and exciting is a key to online business success. So how do you keep your websites or blog updated with exciting web copy? Follow these quick ideas for a fresh start.

From Quick Guide: Web Content Management 101
Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Keeping fresh web copy on your site will means posting new keyword rich articles related to your website or blog theme at least weekly. Posting web articles more often is even better and everyday is best. If you only get to your site weekly, try to add two or three new web articles at a time.

  2. Step 2

Use relevant keywords to make the search engines happy. Search engine optimization through keyword use in web copy means more traffic to your websites. Use different keywords on each page of the website depending on the theme of that page.

  3. Step 3

Update your websites with articles on evergreen topics. Evergreen topics are those that feature general interest topics and include information that lasts through time. These can be basic how-to articles, technical concepts, or other basic information related to your topic.

  4. Step 4

If coming up with articles is difficult, find a good source of well-written private label rights (PLR) web articles that you can easily rewrite to use on your site. Be sure to change the titles and major portions of the content since PLR articles are sold to several other people too.

  5. Step 5

Hook your web article content to the calendar season. If it’s a holiday, relate your stories to the holidays, special national or international events, or other seasonal happenings. Remember to remove the web article or posting after the event is over to keep your web copy as fresh and exciting as possible.

Tips & Warnings
  • Give your website a periodic check up to remove old and stale information.
  • Fresh content can be articles or postings of only 250 to 300 words in length.
  • It’s the quality more than quantity of copy that counts.
  • Don’t discourage web visitors from coming back to your website by never having new content to share.
  • Remember to delete old news and stale information on a regular basis.
